January 18, 2017 Homeowner Tips
If you take an afternoon on the weekends to hit one room, clean it up and down. Dump out the old stuff, and basically spring clean until it shines. That way, when it is
moving day, there will be less to clean and haul out.
There are so many review sites to look at now, but the best person to ask is someone you know. Cheapest isn’t always the best, so decide what is important to you. Are they on
time? Are they experienced with big moves? If you need some recommendations, we can also help out with our preferred movers.
We love Google Drive because you can easily share it with another person. If you’re dividing and conquering, make sure you keep digital files of your moving estimates, your realtor numbers, and anything else you need to have at your laptopfingertips.
You know that closet of stuff you can’t get rid of but you never use? Like your college alumni t-shirts or your snowboarding gear? Maybe the fine silverware looks pretty but isn’t practical? Go ahead and box it up! You’ll be glad you got a jump start on it.
Let them know you are looking to move and see if there are any rules you must follow before you say goodbye. Whether it’s rules about using the elevator to move your sofa, or where the moving van should park, it’s best to know ahead of time.
