SIX GAME-CHANGING TIPS FOR A SUPER BOWL PARTY

Avoid the traffic and the crowded pubs while hosting a fun Super Bowl party at your HOA’s community space. Here are some tips to please your crowd.

1. POTLUCK

Everyone has their “go-to” dish that they love to bring to parties. Whether it’s homemade guacamole or store bought, encourage everyone to bring ONE item. If you want to go the extra yard, make some cards with the name of each dish and the person who brought it.

2. TEAM EFFORT

Get a couple volunteers to help decorate the space with table cloths, team banners, and some footballs to easily decorate the food table. Divide the responsibilities so no one feels exhausted on game day.

3. FRIENDLY BETS

Okay, we know you want to bet your buddy five bucks that his team will lose. Do you also know this is illegal? So maybe make some friendlier bets with prizes for the winners. It’s best to never mix money and friends and the prizes could be gift certificates to your local restaurant.

4. CREATIVE COMPETITION

Super Bowl is a great time to root for your favorite bowl too. You could simultaneously host a “Best Salsa” or “Best Guacamole” contest before the game starts and announce the winner during half time. Get a small prize or print out a certificate for easy bragging rights.

5. BEER & BOOZE RULES

Check with your HOA to see if you can make your party BYOB. If you decide to have alcohol, make sure an adult who is over 21 years of age is overseeing this so there’s no liability and everyone is drinking responsibly.

6. SUPER BOWL SPIRIT

Another great party game is to choose the person who had the most team spirit during the whole game, and not just when they were winning. This person could be the one who dressed in full team gear, or who had the most fun cheers, etc. 

Remember, have some fun with the party. If you do, everyone else will too.
