We are proud to introduce our Employee Spotlight for May: The Dynamic Lynda Drake.

Tell us a little about yourself:

I am a native Californian, married to the same fabulous guy for 40 years. We have two wonderful children and 3 adorable grandchildren (with one due in July).  I’ve enjoyed 29 years of working in the hospitality and customer service industry.  Several of my jobs include catering manager, property and community management, small business owner, and now director of community services.

How long have you been with the company and how did you first learn about Crummack Huseby? 

It’s been 12 years since I first joined Crummack Huseby.  I first learned about the on-site administrator job while doing a monthly landscape inspection with a vendor.  I felt an immediate connection with Margo and told her she needed me!  As luck would have, Margo did!

What is your role at Crummack Huseby? 

As the Director of Community Services, my role is to build the community by assisting residents, vendors, Board Members and Sub Associations, Realtor, etc.  The Office provides a one-stop shop for everything pertaining to the community. 

What would people never guess you do in your role?  

Provide the school children of the community and furry companions a safe haven.  The children love to stop by, say hi and get a scoop of candy.  Also, if a lost pet is found and brought to my office, I take care of it until the owners are found. I have a lot of furry friends!

What aspect of your role do you enjoy most? 

I enjoy speaking with residents on a daily basis, and helping them with day-to-day concerns, or listening to them express their pleasure at being a part of the community.

What are your greatest accomplishments so far? 

My greatest accomplishments are getting my CACM designation, designing and implementing the website for the community, and creating the capability for residents to book their own pool and park parties online. 

What is your proudest moment at Crummack Huseby? 

Becoming a part of the Crummack Huseby Team!

How would you describe Crummack Huseby?

A company that encourages me to move forward.  Crummack Huseby allows me the opportunity to be my own boss, create and implement programs and policies to better the community. 

Before working here, what was the most unusal or interesteing job you've ever had? 

I worked for a golf course in a roving snack bar in a Golf Cart Limo!  It was a blast!
